My 1st Fashion Spread Shoot

Fashion has no boundaries and limitations. Fashion is about attitude and style.

I love fashion and this is why I moved to fashion industry. After I came to this fashion world, I realised that it isn't as glamorous as what I think. Wiki (a top designer from Indonesia), I have to agree what you told me. To be honest, I don't see much unity in our local fashion scene. Each of the fashion organizer has their own agenda or propaganda. I personally think that Malaysia's fashion growth is still very slow. Well, do not compete with the western countries if we can't compete with our neighbour coutries like Thailand, Indonesia or Singapore.

I am glad that our homegrown top designers like Dato Jimmy Choo, Dato Bernard Chandran and Zang Toi are 'coming back' to the country. I have no doubt with their design and popularity in the country. In fact, they are our role model. They should organise workshops with the young designers by not charging a high price or perhaps free. Don't you agree with me? It is to inspire and educate the young designers.

I am not going to touch or talk about issues in our local fashion scene here. Let Mama G tells you more about it! Haha...Here, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some fashion spread photos that I did for MStar last May. I was extremely excited and nervous because that was my very first time participated in fashion spread shoot. Indeed, it was a great experience! Never expect it happened in my life! Diyana, thank you so much for the opportunity! Thank you to Belinda Chee, Soo Wincci and Owen Yap who made themselves free to join the photoshoot. I hope you like the photos!

The outfits were sponsored by Danjyo-Hiyoji, designers from Indonesia. This fashion label is quite new in the fashion industry, but it offers quality and unique design for the customers. This photo-shooting would not be a success without a nice make-up and hairstyling. The make-up was done by M.A.C. and hairstyling by Bryan Tan, the Creative Director of Backstage Academy.

Why I chose Danjyo-Hiyoji? Well, I was introduced to Dana Maulana, one of the owners of this brand by Edward Gunawan, a talented and upcoming celebrity from Indonesia. I just find that their design is sophisticated yet trendy. Also, this is something that I am looking for.

Exploring fashion within modernity, individuality and showing creativity throughout the influence of youthful spirit. Danjyo-Hiyoji aims to offer a snug and flattering chic collection in every season and it has to be wearable, confident, and define its own unique aesthetic that transcends trends. The designers usually placing unusual detail to make the design look flattering yet wearable and up till now it turns to be their work ethic while designing. A different background in fashion field contributes many unexpected ideas and came up with unique creativity. The brand was awarded by Cleo Magazine as the most innovative local brand in 2009.Well, the original concept for the label was to create exciting fashion items all through domestic production that take in global trend rapidly. Thus, customers just then may have the latest fashionably thing at the best price.
