Sustainable Style at H&M

Conscious Collection

Sustainability is a long term trend at H&M and this April as part of the focus on sustainability H&M will introduce the Conscious Collection. The collection which is for women, men and children is made from environmentally – adapted and greener materials such as organic cotton, Tencel® and recycled polyester. The Conscious Collection will be on sale in all H&M stores from 14th April.

Womenswear is inspired by an updated romantic style in which blouses, tunics and T-shirts with Broderie Anglaise are a key trend. Tiered dresses are perfect for day or more dramatic Grecian gowns for night. The collection also includes the perfect white blazer and pleated trousers for a more minimalist look as well as Broderie Anglaise and lace lingerie.

Best Actress, Natalie Portman, wore a dress from the Conscious Collection to a pre-Oscar event in Los Angeles. Look at her, she is stunning! This talented girl won the Academy Award, the Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, and the BAFTA Award for her lead performance as Nina in Black Swan. Congrats!

Jess Lee- Be Willing To Pay The Price

Jess Lee
Behind every great achievement is a story of education, training, practice, discipline, and sacrifice. You have to be willing to pay the price. Jess Lee is a good example.

Jess Lee made Malaysia proud by winning the seventh season of Taiwan’s wildly popular singing competition reality TV show Superstar Avenue. Her win entitles her to a cash prize of NT 1 mil (RM100,000) and a recording contract with Warner Music Group.

She is an extrovert, active and cheerful person. It’s simply because she grew up in a happy family. “ Music is definitely part of my life. I love to sing and enjoy of performing. I don’t have any particular genre music that I like, as long as the music and lyrics are good. Well, it’s truly depend on my mood,” said Lee.

Charming Smile
Lee started singing and taking vocal lessons at age eight. She has never dreamt to be a singer. She loves singing and she will sing especially when I feel down and stressed-out.

Her  favourite musicians are Ah Mei, Tanya Chua, Eason Chan, Jim Brickman and Beyonce. They are great, talented and unique in their own way.

Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.” – Stephen King, Best-selling author with over 40 books in print, many of which have been made into movies.

Many people fail to take action because they are afraid to fail. Successful people, on the other hand, realize that failure is an important part of the learning process. They know that failure is just a way we learn by trial and error. Not only do we need to stop being so afraid of failure but we also need to be willing to fail – even eager to fail. Every experience will yield up more useful information that you can apply the next time.

For her, she was eliminated in singing contest before due to her nervousness and has heard so much criticisms. In fact, these challenges made her grew stronger and she has been determined to perform better. Besides staying and competing alone in Taiwan, she had overcome lots of living difficulties and other psychological factors. To Jess, this is what she called life and she is happy for herself from gaining valuable, memorable and precious life experiences.

Passion is something within you that provides the continual enthusiasm, focus and energy you need to succeed. To Jess, she personally thinks that passion and persistence are the important elements to make herself to be a wiser and mature person.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”- Calvin Coolidge, Thirtieth president of the United States.

Be yourself and stay optimistic everyday.

She was independent in handling obstacles that came her way. The friends she made during the competition were supportive to her. The time spent with them were the most cherishable moment to her. The most memorable experience that she had was hearing the huge applause of a standing ovation within the masses, as she finished her song. She felt like it was her own concert. She is very happy and grateful to have so many people supporting her throughout the competition, giving her much support and encouragement.

Supportive Friends

Some people will do anything to avoid the uncomfortable feeling of fear. Well, most of the good stuff requires taking a risk. As the old adage so wisely tell us, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” Jess shows a good example here as she is willing to be terrified.

“I improved a lot throughout this competition, irregardless in singing or through mental challenges. I learn to sing with passion and share my “story” with the audience. I learned that to be tough with myself, so that life would go easy on me. I have gained many valuable lessons here,” commented Lee.

“I kept pushing myself to raise the standards and excel in my performance each time. I was afraid that I will be eliminated from the competition. The fear of disappointment towards the people who were there to support me. My family members gave me a lot of support throughout the competition. ”

“My mum is my inspirational idol in life. She is the greatest woman with a strong capability for taking care of the family and had sacrificed much for the family. She always gave the best education and gave us full support in everything that we do.”

She personally likes a busy lifestyle as it keeps her going, life feels more interesting and she feels much satisfaction as her time is fully utilize.

To be famous or rich was never in her dominant thoughts. Her goal is simply to live out my passion and to stay happy among my peers, especially her family members. Given a chance, she really hopes that she can have her own album and concern to sing to people who loved and supported her.

“My new year resolution is to lose weight. I am determined to slim down this year.”

Caffeine OD

Are you looking for a nice place for an outing with friends and family or a business meeting or a cup of roasting and blending coffee?
In this post, I am going to recommend you a place for above purposes. The name of the place is Austin Chase Coffee. The reason I recommend this place to you simply because of its relaxed an intimate environment, and good quality coffee and food.

The Brand Logo

Selvatheisan is the Group Managing Director of Austin Chase Coffee chain. I met him once at Austin Chase Sunway Giza’s Christmas Party. Ace Wong and Kent Wong are two of the directors that I know personally. They are young, humble and down-to-earth entrepreneurs. I think these are the reasons they are successful at a young age.

Austin Chase Coffee has five outlets nationwide. They are located at Queensbay Mall in Penang, The Gardens Midvalley, Wangsa Walk, Sunway Giza and DoubleTree Hilton at The Intermark in Klang Valley.

It’s important for us to study the history and philosophy of a brand. From knowing the brand, you get to know why they’re successful in the market.

Like what Scott Bedbury says, “A great brand taps into emotions. Emotions drive most, if not all, of our decisions. A brand reaches out with a powerful connecting experience. It’s an emotional connecting point that transcends the product”.

Austin Chase Coffee was founded in 1989 in Seattle, Washington with the strategy of developing an excellent espresso coffee and high quality service. At Austin Chase Coffee, they believe roasting coffee is an art. The signature roasting style of Austin Chase Coffee creates a flavourful and rich cup of coffee which is never bitter. This roasting philosophy produces a full-bodied coffee with a sweet, caramel finish.

The roasting process begins with the purchase of only 100% of the top grade Arabica coffee beans from Central and South America, Indonesia and Africa. These beans are then roasted in small batches in a Probat coffee roaster that is consistently monitored and maintained to produce the premier coffee which their wholesale customers and licensing partners have come to know and appreciate.

Winning the Best Coffee award at Chicago's Coffee Fest, and being selected as the feature coffee for the Northwest Decorator Showcase sponsored by the Junior League with Martha Stewart are some of their great achievements.

Besides serving good coffee, they have nice desserts too, for instance, carrot cake, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate cake, and so on.

I personally highlight this cafe to you simply because I like the ambiance and friendly staffs. You may drop by one of their outlets and experience yourself!
